If you are moving to Greece from abroad for your military duty, there are 3 critical things to know for 2026:
- Reduced Service: Most permanent residents abroad are eligible for a 6-month reduced service. Ensure your paperwork from the Consulate is ready 3 months before enlistment.
- The "Army First" Rule: Since 2026, all recruits initially enlist in the Hellenic Army (Land Forces). Transfers to the Navy or Air Force are now extremely rare and strictly merit-based.

📅 4 Enlistment Series (ESSO)
